Course Overview

Be equipped with the knowledge and skills to provide care and meet social, emotional, physical and educational needs of children aged from 0 to 5. Learn to work with culturally diverse children and implement plans in accordance with Australian licensing, accreditation and regulation, and duty of care. Gain the competencies to supervise staff and volunteers.

Entry Requirements

ACADEMIC

  • Completion of Australian Year 12 or equivalent

ENGLISH PROFICIENCY

  • Upper-intermediate Level of English 

                      OR

  • IELTS Test Score of 5.5 

                   OR

Other recognised English Language tests such as:

  • TOEFL iBT Test Score of 46
  • PTE Academic Test Score of 42
  • Cambridge English: FCE
  • OET Pass Grade
  • TOEFL PBT Test Score of 527
  • TOEIC 605- 880

  • CHCECE045 Foster positive and respectful interactions and behaviour in children
  • CHCECE046 Implement strategies for the inclusion of all children
  • CHCECE047 Analyse information to inform children’s learning
  • CHCECE048 Plan and implement children’s education and care curriculum
  • CHCECE049 Embed environmental responsibility in service operations
  • CHCECE050 Work in partnership with children’s families
  • CHCPRP003 Reflect on and improve own professional practice 
  • CHCINM002 Meet community information needs
  • CHCECE053 Respond to grievances and complaints about the service

Course Duration

This course is delivered over 52 weeks (including 11 weeks of holidays).
Classes are rostered for 3 days per week + Self-study component.
Full-Time studies require students to attend a minimum of 20 scheduled course contact hours per week.

Further Studies

On completion of the CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, students may pursue a bachelor's degree at Stanley College or selected Bachelor courses at Universities.
