
This qualification reflects the role of support workers who complete specialized tasks and functions in aged-care services in residential, home or community-based environments. Workers will take responsibility for their own outputs within defined organization guidelines and maintain quality through the development, facilitation and review of individualized service planning and service delivery.
To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of practical work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.
Students must be aged 18 or above and have satisfactorily completed Year 11 or an appropriate Certificate II qualification in related fields of study.

Students are required to complete a minimum of 120 hours of work placement in a disability services workplace for the unit CHCCCS023 Support independence and wellbeing. This will enable the students to acquire the skills and knowledge they require to work in a disability services workplace.
